What to expect on your first visit
The first visit to our practice will last between 45 minutes to an hour. We will want to put your child at ease and may let her play while we talk to you. It may help if your child brings along a favorite toy or a book to show the clinician. Don’t worry if your child is shy because we will mainly want to talk to you about your child.
We will require background information from you about your child’s birth, developmental and medical history, the reasons for the referral and your concerns. Your child will be evaluated with speech and language assessments. Based on the assessment results we will give our recommendations during this visit.
